HuskyCT allows instructors to adjust assignment visibility, making content available to specific students, selected groups, or the entire class as needed. There are three features in HuskyCT that allow instructors to customize content and assignment availability: **Release Conditions, Exceptions, and Accommodations**.

---

### Release Conditions:

**[Release Conditions](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/26042992794/Content+and+Assessment+Visibility+in+Ultra+Course+View#Release-Conditions)** can be used to control access for specific students or groups in combination with other availability settings, such as date- and time-based restrictions. Students who satisfy* ****any**** *of the configured rules will be able to access the item.

Instructors can add one or more rules for individual students or groups to an item's Release Conditions. Each rule applies independently, meaning that any student who meets the criteria of a rule will receive access to the item.

Example 1: Providing all students with the same date and time based restrictions.

Example 2: Providing two rules for two groups. Group 1 containing a specific date and time based restriction, while Group 2 contains an alternate date and time based restriction.

> ⚠️ If there is more than 1 rule within the Release Conditions, a student should not be in both rules. If a student is in both rules, the conditions will not work as intended.

---

### Exceptions:

**[Exceptions](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/26482672173)** allow instructors to modify availability settings for individual students, including granting extra attempts, adjusting due dates, or extending access to specific tests and assignments. A gray clock icon displayed next to the student's name within the gradebook indicates that an exception has been applied

Example 1: A student who misses an exam due to illness can be granted an exception. The instructor can provide the student with an alternative date and time to complete the exam.

Example 2: Instructors can use exceptions to accommodate make-up exams by providing students with adjusted availability dates, deadlines, or additional attempts.

Example 3: A student who has technology issues, may need additional time or attempts to complete the exam.

---

### Accommodations:

**[Accommodations](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/26046857479/Student+Accommodations+in+Ultra+Course+View)** should be provided to students as outlined by the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD). HuskyCT offers two accommodation options that can be applied at the course level: Due Date Accommodations and Time Limit Accommodations.

- **Due Date Accommodations** provide students with additional time to complete assignments and assessments by automatically extending due dates.
- **Time Limit Accommodations** grant students extra time on timed assessments, ensuring they receive the approved testing accommodations across the course.

Once applied, accommodations are automatically used for course assessments reducing the need to configure exceptions for individual assessments.

Example 1: A student with a CSD accommodation for double time would receive a time accommodation of 100%.

Example 2: A student who should never have work marked late due to a CSD accommodation will receive a due date accommodation in HuskyCT.
