This article is intended for students submitting group assignments.

# **Overview**

- Students can collaborate with classmates and submit one assignment on behalf of the group.
- Depending on how the instructor configured the assignment, students may be automatically assigned to a group or asked to select their own group.
- Only one member needs to submit the assignment for the entire group.
- All group members can view and contribute to the same submission. However, only one member can work on the submission page at a time; if another group member wants access, they need to take control.

> ⚠️ Note: Students who are not assigned to a group cannot access the group assignment. They should be either assigned to the group by instructors or self-enrolled by themselves.

When multiple students attempt to access the same group assignment, only one student can actively edit the assignment at a time.

If another group member opens the assignment while you are editing it, a pop-up message appears: **A group member wants control!**

You can choose one of the following options:

- **A: Ignore** – Keeps editing control with you. The other group member cannot make changes until control is transferred.
- **B: Give Control** – Saves your current work and transfers editing control to the requesting group member.
