Instructors can send students automated messages when a grade is posted within their HuskyCT Course. Congratulatory and Supportive messages are configured by instructors, allowing them full creative license based on item and grade percentage. 

This article assumes that an instructor already knows how to [configure a new automation.](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TL/pages/edit-v2/28464807993?draftShareId=805020eb-a068-4a4e-8af7-0d2130bce342) 

## Creating Congratulatory Messages:  

1. After [configuring an automation](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TL/pages/edit-v2/28464807993?draftShareId=805020eb-a068-4a4e-8af7-0d2130bce342), select **Configure** located under **Send congratulatory message.**
2. Create a title for your Automation. Click enter on your keyboard to save your title.
  
3. Next, adjust the automation triggers.
  1. **For the following items: **Identify which items within the course should receive the congratulatory message. Instructors can choose from “All graded items”, or specific items/assignments, by clicking the drop-down arrow.
  2. **Limited by attained grade: **Default is set to “Limited by attained grade”, meaning students need to achieve a specified graded to receive the automated congratulatory message. To turn off, deselect the box. When turned off, the “Attained grade is” box disappears.
  3. **Attained grade is**: Configure the settings to specify what percentage range students need to receive the congratulatory message. Instructors can choose between **Equal to, Greater than, Less than, Greater than or equal to, **or** Less than or equal to **by clicking the dropdown arrow. To adjust the percentage, type within the percentage box.
4. Click **Done.**
5. Under **Action to be taken**, instructors can personalize the course message prompt by clicking the **pencil icon.**
6. Begin typing within the textbox to edit. Then, click **Done. **

7. Click **Save.**
8. The created automation will appear as ‘Active' from within the **Automations** page.



## Creating Supportive Messages:

2. Create a title for your Automation. Click enter on your keyboard to save your title.
