This article outlines the available options for instructors and students who wish to use Video Studio within HuskyCT.


# **Overview**

Instructors and students can use Video Studio in HuskyCT to either record video or audio directly or upload existing media files to share within their course.

- Instructors can add video or audio files to Course Content, Documents, Tests, Assignments, Announcements, Discussions, and grading feedback.
- The maximum length for videos created within Video Studio is **30 minutes **for instructors.
  - Students can include video or audio in their submissions for Tests, Assignments, Discussion posts, and Journals.
    Student limits:
    - Recording limit: **30 minutes**
    - Upload limit: **10 GB**
- Videos uploaded from external sources have no length restriction.
- Videos can be uploaded up to a maximum size of 10GB.
- Supported file formats:
  - Video: .mp4, .mov, .avi, .mkv, .wmv, .flv, .webm, .3gp, .m4v, .mpg, .mpeg, .m2v, .ts
  - Audio: .mp3, .m4a, .wav, .ogg, .flac, .opus, .weba, .aac

# **Accessing Video Studio**

1. Navigate to the **Course Content **area in your course
2. Click any of the plus (+) signs
3. Click on the **Record Audio/Video** option

<summary>Documents</summary>

1. Click any of the plus (+) signs in **Course Content**
2. Click on **Create**
3. Select **Document **from the **Course Content Items** list
4. Select the **Audio / Video** option

<details>
<summary>Announcements, Assignments, and Discussions</summary>

When creating **Announcements**, **Assignments**, or **Discussions**, you'll find an **Audio/Video **Recording option in the text editor toolbar.

<summary>Test Questions</summary>

1. Navigate to your existing test
2. From the test view, hover over the dashed gray line
3. When the line turns purple, and click it to add a new question
4. Select the question type that best fits your needs
5. Click on the text box for the Question Text
6. you'll find an **Audio/Video** Recording option in the text editor toolbar

<summary>Grading Feedback</summary>

- On the assessment grading page, under the **Overall Feedback** section, you’ll find an **Audio/Video Recording** option in the text editor toolbar
  
- For individual items(columns):
  - Navigate to **Gradebook **> **Gradable Items**
  - Click on the column you want to grade
  - Find the student, then click** Add Feedback **to begin entering your comments
  - You’ll find an **Audio/Video Recording** option in the text editor toolbar

<summary>Student Submissions</summary>

Students also have access to **Video Studio** for their submissions. When submitting a text-based answer, they can use the **Audio/Video Recording** option available in the text editor toolbar to include media in their response.

# **Recording Video or Audio in Video Studio**

Video Studio provides four recording options:

A. **Camera **- Record using your webcam

B. **Audio **- Record voice-only audio

C. **Screen** - Capture your screen without audio

D. **Audio & Screen **- Record both your screen and audio simultaneously

E. **Video & Screen **- Record both your screen and video simultaneously

> ⚠️ The maximum length for videos created within Video Studio is **30 minutes for instructors and students**.

# **Uploading Media with Video Studio**

 Video or audio files can be uploaded from external sources by clicking the **Upload from device** button at the bottom of the screen.

> ⚠️ Videos uploaded from external sources have no length restriction, and the maximum file size allowed is 10GB.
