This article is intended for students looking to participate in discussions in HuskyCT.

<details>
<summary>How to post in discussions</summary>

1. Enter the **Discussions** tab of the course.
2. Click the **Discussion item**.
3. Click the **box** labeled **Type a post, **then enter your response.
4. Click **Post**.

<summary>Checking Due Dates & Requirements</summary>

1. From the **Discussion **tab, you can view a list of discussions along with their due dates.
2. From the list, select the discussion you want to work on.
3. On the right side, locate the **Details & Information** section.
4. Review the due dates and requirements for completing the discussion.
  1. Instructors may provide two different due dates (e.g., for initial posts and comments), so be sure to check both.

<summary>Monitoring New Discussion Activity</summary>

1. From the **Discussion Tab** select the three dots and **Follow**

You can also allow notifications from the thread itself by going into the discussion thread,

2. Click the **Bell Icon** labeled **Follow **in order to enable notifications for discussion activity.

The **Blue Bubble Icon** below indicates activity in the discussion.

<summary>Viewing a Rubric in a Discussion Post </summary>

1. Enter the **Discussion**.
2. Grading information can be viewed under **Details & Information**.
3. If your instructor provided a rubric, you can view how you will be graded by clicking on **This items is graded with a rubric**.
4. From the **Rubric Details**, you can view the criterion for each category within the rubric by clicking on the specific item.

<summary>Viewing your Discussion Grade</summary>

> ℹ️ **Note:** All student discussion activity is graded individually (including for group discussions).

1. Enter the **Discussion**.
2. Grade can be viewed on the right, under **Details & Information**.
  1. When your instructor specifies the required number of posts or replies in a discussion, the due-date section will display how many posts or replies you need to submit.
3. To view feedback, if available, click the **Purple Comment Icon **to the right of the grade.
4. Feedback will pop up on the right side of the screen.
