This section provides guidance for instructors seeking to integrate VoiceThread (VT) assignments into their HuskyCT courses.

VoiceThread is an interactive, web-based platform that supports media sharing and collaborative discussions. Users can upload a variety of content, including images, documents, and videos. Users are able to add comments using text, audio, or video or create their own slides. Instructors can create different types of assignments within VoiceThread and customize instructions to align with their course objectives and student learning needs.

# **VoiceThread Overview**

- VoiceThread offers three assignment types that can be created directly within HuskyCT courses: **Watch**, **Create**, and **Comment**.
    - **[Create Assignments](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/27467841576/*+%22Create%22+VoiceThread+Assignments)**** **require students to create and submit their own VoiceThread presentations or slides. Instructors can enable a Student Gallery so students can view and comment on each other's slides.
    - **[Comment Assignments](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TL/pages/26100400350)** require students to add comments to a VoiceThread created by the instructor. This is similar to an online discussion board or thread.
    - **[Watch Assignments](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TL/pages/27467841543)**** **require students to complete a full play-through of an instructor created VoiceThread.
- In addition to the three assignment types, instructors can create a central access point, or a [VT homepage](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TL/pages/29024354305), for everyone within the course.
- When an instructor creates a VT assignment within a HuskyCT course, a corresponding grade column is automatically created in the HuskyCT Grade Center. This allows grades to be synced and managed directly within the course gradebook.
- Additional Instructor support and tutorial can be viewed from the [VT Support page.](https://voicethread.com/myvoice/threadbox/117)
