This article is for instructors who are incorporating VoiceThread assignments that need grading. 

# <u>**Overview**</u>

- When a VoiceThread (VT) Assignment is created, a corresponding Grade column is also created.
- The VT Assignment link will also provide instructors/TAs a grading panel to assess student activity based on the specified possible points.
- VT submissions can be graded by navigating to the VoiceThread assignment link.

## <u>**Grading Submissions**</u>

1. From the course content page, navigate to the VT assignment link.
2. After clicking on the assignment link, the VT assignment will open within HuskyCT.
3. The VT grading panel will populate on the right side. The grading panel displays the attempt status for each student. Submissions are categorized by **Ungraded **and **Graded.** Additionally, each submission contains the attempt status (Not attempted, In progress, and Submitted).
  1. <u>**Not Attempted**</u>
    1. This status indicates that a student has not yet open or begun the assignment.
  2. **In Progress **
    1. This status indicates that a student has clicked “Start Assignment”.  It does not necessarily indicate that a student has viewed the VoiceThread Assignment content or made comments.
    2. This status can also indicate that  student has made comments but has not yet satisfied all of the VT assignment requirements, or has not yet submitted.
    3. If you click on the “In Progress” student’s name you will either see their comments or a message that they have not begun working on the assignment (no comments made).
  3. **Submitted**
    1. This status indicates that a student has satisfied all of the VT assignment requirements and has submitted.
    2. You can click on their name to see their comments, grade their contributions, and save the grade.
  4. **Graded**
    1. Once a student’s grade has been saved, their name will will move to the Graded tab (shown below), and their score will transfer to the corresponding Grade column.
  5. Cannot be graded
    1. This status only appears if a student has dropped the course.  Even if the student is not visible in the Users list or Grade Center, their name and this status will remain in the VT grading panel. At this time this status cannot be removed.
