<span style="color: #172b4d">This article is a guide for students to create a VoiceThread for submission to a VoiceThread ‘Create’ type assignment.</span>

## Creating a VoiceThread

1. Within your HuskyCT course, navigate to and click on the VoiceThread (VT) Assignment link.
2. In the assignment, click **Launch**.
3. From the right-side panel, you will see the requirements, such as the number of slides or comments needed. After reviewing the description, click **Start Assignment**.
  
4. From the **Let’s Get Started**, add, record, copy, or link materials or media.  Each file or media that is added will become its own slide.  Later, “Comments” can be added to each slide (see Step 6 below for further detail).
  
5. After adding the initial slide content, you can continue adding other files/media by clicking the **+ Add media** button.
6. Once you’ve finished adding slide media, click **Continue**.
  
7. Next, you can add “Comments” which will overlay the VoiceThread slides.  Click the speech **bubble icon** to open the available commenting options.  For further detail, see **[Commenting on a VoiceThread](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/10888020146/Commenting+on+a+VoiceThread)**.
8. Use the left and right arrows to navigate between slides, adding Comments that relate or speak to the contents of a particular slide.
9. After you’ve recorded a Comment, it will appear on the left-side commenting panel with your initials or profile image.  Clicking on the Comment square will play the Comment.
10. Once you have finished adding Comments, check to make sure the assignment requirements have been met.  Requirements that have been met are indicated by a green check mark on the right side panel.
11. Once ALL requirements have been met, the **Submit** button will become active, and you can click to submit your VoiceThread assignment.
12. If the instructor has enabled the [Student Gallery](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/26069499988), your VoiceThread will be visible to other students in the course who can view and comment.
