This article is intended for students taking an exam via LockDown Browser in Ultra Course View.

> 📝 UConn’s version of LockDown Browser **must** be downloaded **prior** to taking an exam via LockDown Browser in Ultra Course View. # **Accessing and Completing an Exam with LockDown Browser**

1. Navigate to your [HuskyCT](https://lms.uconn.edu/) course.
2. From within your course, locate and select the exam. Students can determine if an assessment contains LockDown Browser by the proctored icon.
3. After opening the exam, students will see an additional message indicating the requirements of LockDown Browser.
4. When prepared, click **Start attempt.**
5. A pop-window will appear asking to open LockDown Browser. Select **Open LockDown Browser**. ** **

> ⚠️ If you don’t see this prompt, ensure LockDown Browser is installed on the machine, then try to access the exam again.

6. Next, LockDown Browser will open.

> ⚠️ If there are other windows or applications open, you will receive a notification to either Proceed or Exit LockDown Browser. Choosing to Proceed will automatically close all other windows and applications open on your computer.

7. In LockDown Browser, you must complete the Pre-Exam Checklist before you can start the exam. If your instructor has enabled webcam or screen recording, it will be noted here.

<summary>Pre-Exam Checklist</summary>

- **Terms of Use: **Review the terms of use and click **Agree.**
- Webcam Check: Review your image, then click **Yes**. Then it will request a 5-second video recording. Follow the instructions on the page to record. And then click **Continue**.
- Additional Instructions: Read through the instructions carefully and click **Continue**.
- Guidelines + Tips: Click **Next **after reading each section, and at the end, click **Continue**.
- Student Photo: Click **Take Picture** and **Continue**.
- Show ID: Hold your UConn ID card, click **Take Picture** and **Continue**.
- Environment Check: Show the area around your computer to verify that it is free of papers, books, phones, notes, and other unauthorized materials. Click **Start Recording**, then **Stop Recording** when you are done. Then **Continue**.
- Face Detection: Make sure your face is clearly visible in the camera view. If a warning message appears on the right side of the screen, adjust your position until a **Success!** message is displayed. Then select **Continue**.

8. Begin Exam: After completing the Check In steps, Click **Begin Exam. **
9. Once you are ready to Submit, click the **Submit** button in the lower right.
10. A popup window will appear titled **Submit Test? **Click **Submit** to proceed with the submission or **Cancel** to return to the test.
11. A popup window will appear titled **Your Submission was Successful!** On that window, you will see the Submission Confirmation Number and can continue to exit the test by clicking **Close.**

# **Setting Up the Second Camera for LockDown Browser **

If your instructor has enabled the Second Camera option, you will be prompted to connect a second camera before beginning your exam.

1. Connect a second device by scanning the QR code displayed on the screen.
2. Keep the device connected to a power source and enable Do Not Disturb mode to prevent interruptions during recording. Once recording begins, do not change the camera orientation (portrait or landscape).
3. Position your camera as desired, then select **I'm Ready**.
4. Position the camera as directed by your instructor so that the required area (such as your hands or workspace) is visible. Do not change the camera orientation until the assessment is finished.
