Setting up the Overall Grade Calculation

The Overall Grade page displays all course assessments (by category) available for overall grade calculation.

1. Categories are listed based on the number of assessment items in the category (highest number to lowest). The number of items is listed below the category name. To view which assessment items are included in a category, click the drop-down arrow.

2. For Weighted Calculations, input the % weight of a given category or assessment. Click the **lock** icon to lock the percentage value while you are adjusting the other percentages.
3. The total weight will be displayed below the assessments. **Please note:* if the total does not add up to **100%**, it’s not possible to save your progress.
4. To exclude a category or assessment from the overall calculation, click the **null** **icon**. When an item is excluded, the null** **icon will appear purple. Click the icon again to re-include it.
5. To move an assessment out of the category grouping so it can be given a separate percentage, click the **unlink** icon. This 'unlinking' does affect the category label and applies only to this calculation. (Click the unlink icon again to add it back into its category).
