This page explains how to use Filters to help focus the information displayed in the Gradebook.

Filters in the Gradebook are useful for faculty who wish to view one or some sections of their Gradebook. For example, if you want to only see Exam 1 and the final grade on your screen, you can filter the Gradebook to do so. To utilize the Filters:

1. Navigate to the **Gradebook.**
2. Select the **Grid** view in the top left corner.
3. Next to the search box, click on **Filter **icon**. **
4. A side panel will pop up with the following view:

- Types of Filters
  - **Students: **Search by first/last name
  - **Groups: **Search by student groups.
  - **Categories: **Search by all default categories and categories you have made.
  - **Types: **Search by Formative or Summative assessment types.
  - **Gradable Items: **Search for any item in your Gradebook that is gradable.
  - **Merged Courses **(conditional): If your course is a parent section with child courses, you will be able to filter by the child course ID.
