This article is intended for instructors looking to change their course availability in Ultra Course View.

# **Overview**

- Ultra courses provide instructors with 2 ways to manage a course’s availability:
  - Changing course availability **dates**
  - Changing course availability **status**
- By default, the availability of academic courses are based on the official term dates. Courses will become available (open) to students on the 1st day of the term, and unavailable (closed) two weeks after the final day of the term.
- Instructors can change the availability dates to open a course prior to official term start date or extend access after the term has ended.
- To reopen course access for a student making up an Incomplete, instructors must also [grant access](https://kb.uconn.edu/space/TL/26343244065/Granting+Student+Access+to+Unavailable+Courses+-+Ultra+Course+View) to the student from the Roster page.
