It is recommended to use iClicker Cloud rather than iClicker Classic. The data is stored online with iClicker and can be accessed from anywhere and the process is easier for the students when iClicker Cloud is used.

If you still want to use iClicker Classic, follow the instructions below. Your students need to create an iClicker Student account if they are using the iClicker Student app or if they need to register their iClicker remote.

1. Create the course in iClicker Classic by downloading the software from [iClicker.com](http://iClicker.com) and installing it on a USB or your laptop. Note that UConn has a customized version of iClicker, so after you select **iClicker Classic **under the **Download iClicker Software **tab on iClicker’s website, click on the link to see if your institution has a customized version** **and select University of Connecticut on the accompanying list of institutions.
1. Click **+ Create.**
2. Name the Course and click **Create.**
3. Click **Settings.**
4. Enter the **Frequency Code*** *for your classroom.
5. If you are allowing students to use iClicker Student, click **Mobile**, click **Enable**, and follow the prompts to login to iClicker to create your course.
1. When prompted, enter your email and password if you have an account with iClicker. If you do not have an account, click **Create Account**. Use your UConn email to create the account and create a password.
2. Once logged in, click **Create New Course**.
3. Enter “University of Connecticut” in the Institution field and all UConn locations will appear. Enter the *Institution, Course Discipline, Course Name* (be sure to include the name, number, and section), *Start Date*, and *End Date*. Click **Create and Save**.
4. Share the course name, number, and section with your students.
6. Click Gradebook and enter your *NetID *with your *iClicker Security Key*. This key can be found by going to any course in HuskyCT, clicking **Course Tools **under **Course Management**, clicking **iClicker Instructor Tools** (at bottom of the list), and clicking on **SSO Security Key**.
1. Click **Log In** and select your course.
7. Click **Scoring **to select the way you want to score polling for the students.
8. Click **Save.**
2. Instruct students on the following:
1. If students are using the iClicker 2 remote, add the **iClicker Student Registration Tool** to your course and instruct your students to click this tool to register their remote (they only need to do this once for all their classes).
2. If students are using the iClicker Student app, they must create an iClicker Student Account and add your course to the app.
3. Running Polling Sessions
1. Open the iClicker Classic application on the computer in the classroom using the USB. If you are using your own laptop, you must bring an iClicker base with you to the classroom. Email [edtech@uconn.edu](mailto:edtech@uconn.edu) to request one.
2. Click **Start New Session**.
3. Open your presentation software, which will also display the polling questions on a slide.
4. When you open a slide with a polling question, click the **green Play button** for multiple-choice questions.
5. Press **Stop** once students have responded.
6. Optionally, show the results or continue with your presentation.
7. Click the **X** (upper left) to close the application once the class is complete.
4. Syncing Grades
1. Open the **iClicker Classic software**.
2. Click** Open Gradebook**.
3. Click **Sync Roster** to get the latest updates for the Roster. Do this every time you sync the scores in case someone gets a new iClicker.
4. Click **Sync Scores**, keep the default settings, and click **Upload**.
