> ℹ️ **Tax Form 1098-T **is a tuition statement that colleges and universities are required to issue to <u>most</u> students who paid for “qualified educational expenses” in the preceding calendar year.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ When **determining whether a student is eligible for a 1098-T**, UConn looks at whether your grants, scholarships, or other third-party payments exceed the payments made towards Qualified Tuition and Related Expenses (QTRE). Per IRS regulations, QTRE consists of tuition and most mandatory fees.  QTRE does not include room and board. 
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ UConn is **NOT required to prepare a 1098-T Form** for every student even if they paid for qualified educational expenses. > ℹ️ To <span style="color: #bf2600">**view and download**</span> a copy of your Form 1098-T, please log into Student Admin, and go to the "Bursar Services" tile > View 1098-T. Please note that we are unable to email or fax the form to anyone.

> ℹ️ If you <span style="color: #bf2600">**cannot view or download**</span> a 1098-T Form, the <u>total of your grants, scholarships, or other third-party payments exceeded the payments made towards your QTRE tax year. </u> When this happens, UConn is not required by the IRS to create a 1098-T.  You do not have a 1098-T as a result.

> ℹ️ If a 1098-T does not open when you click the appropriate tax year, or if an <span style="color: #bf2600">**error message appears**</span>, please do the following:

> ℹ️ 1. Ensure you have disabled pop-up blockers on your device and browser.
> ℹ️ 2. Use a computer (not a mobile device).
> ℹ️ 3. Use Chrome or Firefox browsers (not Safari).
> ℹ️ 4. Clear your cache/cookies.
