<span style="color: #333333">Students can use the Academic Planner tool to plan out their future course enrollments. </span>> Macro (anchor)



<span style="color: #333333">In the Planner, students can select the courses they intend to register for, assign them to future semesters, and see whether or not planned courses will complete graduation requirements. </span>

<span style="color: #333333">These are the steps to planning out future course enrollments using the Academic Planner and Planner Advisement Report tools:</span>

Adding Courses to Academic Planner 

### Using the Planner Report

1. [Log in](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SAS/pages/10758194639)<span style="color: #333333"> to your Student Administration System account. The Student Administration System will then open to the </span><span style="color: #333333">**Student Homepage. **</span>
2. <span style="color: #172b4d">Select the </span>**Academic Progress & Advising **<span style="color: #172b4d">tile on the homepage. </span>

3. Select **Advisement Reports **from the tile menu.
4. Select the **Run Planner Report** button on the Advisement Reports landing page.
  1. After a few moments, the** **Planner Report** **will display in a new tab. Unsatisfied requirements will be expanded by default.
  2. The Planner Report is a mirror of the Standard Report, except it also includes Planned Courses (displayed with a blue star).
5. <span style="color: #333333">Scroll through the report and find a requirement listed as </span><span style="color: #333333">*Not Satisfied*</span><span style="color: #333333">.</span>

6. <span style="color: #333333">Select the </span><span style="color: #333333">**View Course List**</span><span style="color: #333333"> link to view all the courses that fulfill that requirement. In some requirements, the courses that fulfill that requirement may be listed directly in the requirement. </span>
  1. If no courses are listed and no View Course List link is available, use the **[Using Manage Classes Tile](#addcoursesmanageclasses)** instructions to add courses to your Academic Planner.
7. <span style="color: #333333"> Select the</span><span style="color: #333333">** Description link**</span><span style="color: #333333"> for the class you wish to add to your Planner. </span>

8. <span style="color: #333333">The </span>Course Detail<span style="color: #333333"> page will open. Select </span><span style="color: #333333">**A**</span>**dd to Planner **<span style="color: #333333">to add this class to your Academic Planner.</span>
9. <span style="color: #333333">Repeat steps above until all desired courses have been added to the Planner. </span>

### <span style="color: #333333">Using the Manage Classes Tile </span>> Macro (anchor)



1. [Log in](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SAS/pages/10758194639)<span style="color: #333333"> to your Student Administration System account. The Student Administration System will then open to the </span><span style="color: #333333">**Student Homepage. **</span>
2. Select the** Manage Classes **tile.
3. You will be directed to the **Browse Course Catalog **section of the **Manage Classes **page.

4. To search for a class, enter a keyword into the **Search for Courses **field and select enter. Search results will display.
5. Once you have found the course you wish to add to your planner, select the course name. You will then be directed to the **Course Detail **page.
6. Select **Add to Planner **in the top right corner.
7. A green ribbon will display at the top of the page to confirm the course has been added to your planner.
8. Repeat steps above until all desired courses have been added to the planner.

Assigning Planned Courses to Future Terms

1. <span style="color: #172b4d">Select the </span>**Home **<span style="color: #172b4d">icon from the ribbon at the top of the page to return to the homepage. </span>

2. <span style="color: #172b4d">Select the </span><span style="color: #172b4d">**Academic Progress & Advising **</span><span style="color: #172b4d">tile on the homepage. </span>

3. Select **Planner **in the left menu.
4. Under **Unassigned Courses**, your academic planner will display a list of the courses you have not yet assigned to a term (i.e., the courses you just added to your planner).
  1. If you need to remove a course from the planner, select the **trash can icon** in the **Delete** column next to the course you wish to remove. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the page.

5. Check off the class(es) you wish to assign to a term.
6. Select a term from the **Move selected courses to Term **drop-down menu.
7. Select **Move**.
8. A confirmation message will appear across the top of the page.
9. Once all planned courses have been assigned to the appropriate future term, refer to [Reviewing the Planner Report](#reviewenrollplan) to see how planned courses will impact your progress towards graduation requirements.

5. Review your Planner Report. If any requirements remain unsatisfied, either repeat the steps above to add planned courses to fulfill the requirements or plan to add a comment when submitting your Preliminary Plan of Study to explain why the requirements remain unsatisfied.
