Cellular device and lines can be upgraded through the <u>[Softeligent portal](https://uconn.softeligent.app/)</u>.

- Eligible faculty and staff may <u>[upgrade devices for themselves as “subscribers”](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/28907438114/Upgrading+a+Cellular+Device#Upgrade-a-New-Device-as-a-Subscriber)</u>; requests are routed through an approval process.
- Departmental Coordinators can <u>[upgrade of behalf of others](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/28907438114/Upgrading+a+Cellular+Device#Upgrade-a-Device-as-a-Departmental-Coordinator-on-Behalf-of-Others)</u> and may <u>[review and approve orders](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/28907438114/Upgrading+a+Cellular+Device#Department-Coordinator%E2%80%99s-Review-of-Requests)</u>.

## Upgrade a New Device as a Subscriber

1. Sign into Softeligent with your UConn NetID credentials: <u>[https://uconn.softeligent.app/](https://uconn.softeligent.app/)</u>
2. You’ll see the “My Services” page. Each of your existing services will show an “Eligible for Upgrade” date. In the dropdown menu next to the desired line, click **Upgrade.** If you choose to upgrade a device that has not reached the eligibility date yet, you will receive a warning in red text on the top of the following page and will have to pay the full cost of the new device being ordered.
3. Choose a new device type.
4. On the order page, select a plan, any desired add-ons and accessories from their drop-down fields and add any relevant notes into the special instructions or comments field. You and your supervisor will automatically receive email notifications; if there is anyone else you would like to receive a copy of the notification, enter their email addresses into the cc field separated with commas.
5. Click **Submit. **Your order has now gone to your Department Coordinator’s queue for approval.

## Upgrade a Device as a Departmental Coordinator on Behalf of Others

1. Sign into Softeligent with your UConn NetID credentials: <u>[https://uconn.softeligent.app/](https://uconn.softeligent.app/)</u>
2. On the dashboard page, click **Wireless.**
3. You will see a list of subscribers. Click on the subscriber you would like to upgrade a service for.
4. Under phones, you will see their lines. Select the dropdown next to the line you’re upgrading and click **Upgrade**.
5. Choose a new device type.
6. On the order page, input a KFS account. Select a plan, any desired add-ons and accessories from their drop-down fields and add any relevant notes into the special instructions or comments field.
7. When ready to send the order to the carrier, click **Submit**.

## Department Coordinator’s Review of Requests

Departmental Coordinators will receive an email when one of their subscribers submits an upgrade.

1. Sign into Softeligent with your UConn NetID credentials: <u>[https://uconn.softeligent.app/](https://uconn.softeligent.app/)</u>
2. On the dashboard, click **Open Order Types.**
3. You will see a list of open work orders, and each will have a status. Click into an order that has a status “Pending Approval.”
4. The order details will appear. A KFS account will need to be entered into the blank KFS Account field. **Click Submit**. If the number you type in is not a usable KFS account, you will see red error text appear next to the field letting you know the account is not a valid KFS account to use. You will not be able to click submit until typing in a valid KFS account.
5. To release the order to the vendor when ready, click **Approve**. If you do not want this order to be completed, click **Cancel**. Either way, the requesting subscriber will receive an email notification of your selection.

> 📝 **Returning Old Devices and Picking Up Upgrades**

> 📝 Once ready, you can return your old device and pick up your device from the <u>[Technology Support Center](https://its.uconn.edu/techsupport/)</u>. You’ll receive a support ticket from the TSC will instructions.

> 📝 If you do not bring your old device to the Technology Support Center at the time of pickup, they will not distribute the new device. You will need to leave and return with your old device.
