This article serves as a guide for those teaching and learning online with Teams. This guide covers possible scenarios for using Teams inside the classroom and at home.

## Accessing Your Meeting

You may run the Meeting completely within your browser or download the Desktop App (Windows and macOS application) to have access to the full feature set. If you are using a Chromebook or other Linux device, you must join Webex through your browser.

## Using Your Home Internet

Your computer at home connects to your local network (LAN) in order to reach the internet. The most reliable LAN connection is achieved by using an Ethernet (wired) connection rather than Wi-Fi. Ensuring that you have a strong local network connection will give your computer the best chance at creating a stable and enjoyable Webex experience. 

- If you must use Wi-Fi, be sure to sit in the same room as the WiFi access point (router). A direct neighboring room should work just as well depending on your Wi-Fi access point and the construction materials of your house.
  - Do not sit too close to your WiFi access point (router); keep at least 4 feet of distance from your router to prevent connection issues.

## Joining Your Class

If your professor posted information about the class in HuskyCT, look for the link to join the Meeting (class). The link may not be hyperlinked (i.e., able to be clicked), but it should still be recognizable as a URL.

If the link is not hyperlinked or if clicking on the link does not work,

1. Click and drag to select all the text of the link.
2. Copy the link text.
3. Paste the link text into your URL box.

If you received the link in your email, click on that link to join the class.

> ⚠️ There may be legitimate technical issues that prevent students from participating in a session. CETL recommends that you have an alternative way to grade your students in case they are unable to attend.
