Mail Jobs are how Maestro categorizes the mail it sends and tracks.  Each job tracks its own data and has its own reports it generates.  Mail jobs are shared within groups, but are otherwise private.

> ℹ️ The available delivery quota Maestro has remaining in the month is visible on the dashboard.  Ensure that there is enough quota for your delivery job prior to its send time.

1. Sign in to Maestro and from the left side menu select **Mail Jobs**
2. Click the drop down arrow at the top left of the page and select **New > Standard Mail Job**
3. Give your mail job a name and optionally a 3 character ID Prefix
4. You will be presented with all steps to complete the mail job.  All steps must be completed prior to sending mail.  At any time you may elect to save and leave this process.  You will be able to pick up where you left off.  If a **Save** button is not available in that step, saving is not necessary here.
  1. **Define Recipients** allows you to select a subscriber group or list to send to, along with some conditions you may apply to better select from your subscriber lists
    1. **Source **- The subscriber lists or groups to send from
    2. **Source Details** - The conditions used to sort your subscribers
    3. **Advanced Settings **- Used to determine counts as well as stagger delivery if desired
  2. **Define Email Content** determine the actual content of the email being sent.  Start by defining your email subject and choose from available templates or create your own.  Click **Open Template Gallery** to continue
    1. **System Templates** - Default templates provided by Maestro to provide a starting point
    2. **User-Defined Templates** - Templates that have been customized by you or your group
    3. **No Template** - Free Form Text and HTML editors for creating plain text emails rather than a newsletter formatted page.
    4. You will be brought to an editor in which you can create your email using built in widgets and tools to create your desired content.  Mail merge fields are allowed in these and may be provided by drop ins and widgets.
  3. **Define Tracking** - Define the type of tracking data that will be collected.  By default this is set to **Unique Tracking** and only tracks the number of unique events.  Be careful to select the best fit tracking to your needs.
  4. **Define Sender** - Define the contents of the email’s from fields as well as who the will receive replies.  Note that bounce backs such as out of office responses will got o the the **Reply-To Address**.
  5. **Delivery Settings** - Choose the time at which the email will be delivered to recipients, as well as choose repetition patterns if desired.
  6. **Send Test Email** - Tests for ensuring that your email content arrives looking as intended.  Do note that these tests consume quota from Maestro’s total
    1. Spam checking is optional, however it may be useful if your message is bound for recipients outside the university.  Consumes one quota per check.
    2. Up to 3 test recipients may be declared.  They must be structured in the same manner as subscribers.  The application will provide you with the require information.  Simply fill out the fields.  Consumes one quota per test recipient.
    3. Test deliveries by default include a plain text email used when the recipient’s email client does not support the used template.  If enabled, consumes 1 quota per test recipient in addition to the above.
    4. At least one test must be sent and followup confirmed by selecting in the affirmative before distribution can commence.  Changes to content may necessitate additional tests from Maestro.
  7. Once all steps are complete, you may authorize delivery.  This provides a summary of the mail job and allows you to click **Authorize Delivery** to schedule the job in the system.  Your defined delivery settings will be used to do so.
5. After authorization, you may being viewing reports on your job immediately.  Tracking will return data as it is available.

> ℹ️ Note that automatic replies will go to the **Reply To** address if a recipient has an Out Of Office set up or the like.

> ⚠️ Delivery tracking is NOT Included in **Plain Text** content emails.  To have tracking on email receipt, you must use either a System Template (customized or not) or one of the HTML options.  The HTML Content WYSIWYG Editor is similar to using a standard word processor for those unfamiliar with using HTML proper.
