Students, faculty, and staff can use tools built into Microsoft Teams to conducts polls in Chats and during Meetings.

## Creating a Poll in a Chat or Channel

### Step 1: Open the Chat or Channel

Navigate to the Microsoft Teams Chat or Channel where you would like to create the poll.

### Step 2: Open the Polls App

1. Click the plus icon** **(➕) button inside the message compose box to open **Apps**.
2. Search for the **Polls **app and click on it:

### Step 3: Create Your Poll

- Enter:
  - A poll question
  - Answer choices
- Optional settings:
  - Multiple answers allowed
  - Anonymous responses
  - Share compiled results immediately

## Step 4: Submit your votes

- Everyone in the chat can submit a vote.
  - Votes will be anonymous unless the creator has chosen to record them.
- Votes will be shown as the total percentage of votes and count (number).

### Responses Overview

- The “More” button allows you to view the results in a Microsoft Forms page which includes a pie chart and shows poll details such as:
  - Total responses
  - Average time for responses
  - Duration the poll has been open
- On this page, you can also view the results in Excel and see individual results.
