When a page should be removed or retired from the Knowledge Base, you should archive it. It will no longer appear in the live page tree and can be restored, if you need it again.

# Finding the Archive

The archive is accessible to users with users with space access. It allows for unnecessary pages to be hidden from the main collection of work and not being shown in searches while also still stored.

1. Click on the three dots next to the space name (e.g., Information Technology) and select **Space settings.**
2. In the lefthand navigation, click on **Content** and then select **Archived**.

You’ll see a list of all the pages in the archive.

# Archiving a Page

There are two different ways to archive an item, either from the page itself or in the side bar on the lefthand column.

### Archiving from the Page

1. Look at the top of the page you want to archive
2. Select **More actions** (•••)
3. Select **Archive**
4. (optional) Add a note to document why this item was archived.
5. Select Archive.

### Archiving from the Side Bar

1. Find the item in the content tree and hover over the title
2. Select** More actions **(•••)
3. Select** Archive**
4. (optional) Add a note to document why this item was archived.
5. Select Archive.

# Restoring an Archived Page

Once a page is archived, it may also be restored to the main body of work. You may do this from the drop-down menu at the archive or by searching for the page itself within it.

### From the Page

On an archived item, a banner message will appear at the top that shows it as an archived item. If you have permission to restore the item, you’ll find a **Restore** link in the text of that banner.

1. Click **Restore**
2. Choose a destination in the content tree
3. Click **Restore**

### From the List

1. Go to the Archive.
2. In the list of archived items, find the item you want to restore. Click the three dot’s on that item’s line, and select **Restore.**
3. Choose a destination for the item in the content tree.
4. Click **Restore.**
