Devices for university use should be purchased from HuskyBuy using the technology supplier catalogs. ## Standard Device Options via HuskyBuy

ITS and University IT professionals have agreed upon standard configurations for both PCs and Apple devices.  Standard devices will arrive ready to use.

### Apple

Apple devices should be purchased through the technology supplier Connection.  Standard device configurations can be found at the bottom of the landing page.  

Standard devices are offered as a bundle with 3 years of AppleCare+ and will come with a university inventory tag (Note: All items in bundle must be added to the cart)

### Windows

PCs should be purchased through Dell on HuskyBuy.  Standard devices can be found on the landing page.  All standard devices come with a university inventory tag.    

## PC Refresh Ordering

Three times a year IT Professionals and fiscal officers are invited to purchase devices during a bulk buy period known as the PC Refresh.  Volume discounts apply. ## Non-Standard Device Ordering

Devices that do not fall into the standard device offerings should be quoted by a sales rep from UConn’s technology suppliers. ## Device Management

All standard devices will arrive enrolled in university device management systems.  Apple devices are managed in JAMF and Windows devices are managed in Intune.

## Warranty Standards

University standard is a 3 year device warranty.  Dell warranties include next business day hardware support and accidental damage coverage.  Apple devices include 3 years of AppleCare+ coverage.  Devices ordered outside of the standards must have a warranty added to the order.  Please work with a sales representative to add the warranty.  

## Shared Devices

If a device is intended to be used by multiple people it must be configured as a shared device in the JAMF/Intune.  Please contact your local IT support or the [Technology Support Center](https://techsupport.uconn.edu/) prior to using the device.
