> ✅ If you are an international student or traveling internationally frequently, the Duo Mobile app will allow you to authenticate abroad without incurring additional charges.

## Authenticate by SMS text

1. Go to [uconn.login.duosecurity.com/devices](https://uconn.login.duosecurity.com/devices) and log in with your UConn email address and password.
2. Select **Add a device**  
Note: If this is your first time enrolling in Duo, you will be asked to set up the Duo Mobile app. To enroll in SMS instead, select “Set up a different option”.
3. On the “Select an option” screen, select **Phone Number.**
4. Select your country code (+1 for USA) from the dropdown and enter your 10-digit cellphone number and select **Continue.**
5. Verify the phone number displayed is correct and select **Yes, it’s correct**.
6. Select **Send me a passcode**. Enter the passcode sent to your phone to continue.
7. The process is complete.
