Sponsored accounts can be modified after creation. Certain fields can be changed, accounts can be expired, and their expiration dates can be extended. The Account Sponsorship Application allows sponsors to make these changes.

## Accessing the Account Sponsorship Application (ASA)

1. Go to [netid.uconn.edu](https://netid.uconn.edu/) and log in.
2. Once you have logged in, click the link in the menu at the top of the screen for **Account Sponsorship**. You may be prompted to accept another Duo 2FA prompt.

## Edit an account’s details

1. Select the account type** **you wish to edit.

2. Click **Edit **next to the account that you wish to make changes for.
3. Change the appropriate fields and save your changes.

## Extend an account’s expiration date

The Account Sponsorship Application allows for accounts to be sponsored for up to a **maximum of 12 months at a time**. If an account is needed for a longer duration of time, the account must be extended in the Account Sponsorship Application.

1. Click the account type** **you wish to edit.
2. Click the checkbox next to the account you wish to modify and click the green **Extend **button.
3. A dialog will appear with the number of months you wish to extend the account for. Select the new account life duration and click **Confirm**.

## Expire an account

The Account Sponsorship Application allows for accounts to be expired at any time. If an account is no longer needed, you can delete the account. Due to slight differences in the way affiliate accounts are created, the expiration of affiliate accounts does not take effect until the following day. NetIDwork and NetIDadmin accounts are disabled immediately.

1. Click the account type** **you wish to edit.
2. Click the checkbox next to the account you wish to modify and click the red **Expire **button.
3. A dialog will appear that asks to confirm your action. Click **Confirm** to expire the accounts.
