Event Types are used to categorize events in a broad way. They also serve as filters for users when searching for events.
Please only assign pertinent Event Types to your event. Most events will have just one Event Type. Some may have none, and occasionally some events may have multiple Event Types.

| 📚 | Academic Support | Events focused on providing resources, assistance, or guidance to students to help with their academic success.
*Examples include:*
- Tutoring sessions
- Study groups
- Academic workshops |
| 🎨 | Arts & Culture | Events showcasing artistic and cultural expressions.
*Examples include:*
- Art exhibitions
- Performances
- Film screenings
- Literary readings |
| 👟 | Athletics & Recreation | Events related to sports, physical activities, and recreational outings.
*Examples include:*
- Sporting events
- Fitness classes
- Intramural tournaments/games
- Outdoor activities |
| 🏆 | Awards, Reception, & Celebrations | Events honoring achievments, recognizing individuals or groups, and celebrating milestones.
*Examples include:*
- Award ceremonies
- Receptions
- Graduation ceremonies
- Anniversary celebrations |
| 👩💼 | Career & Professional Development | Events aimed at assisting students in their career exploration, skill development, networking, and job search.
*Examples include:*
- Career fairs
- Resume workshops
- Mock interviews
- Employer panels |
| 🤝 | Community Outreach | Events focused on engaging with and serving the local community.
*Examples include:*
- Community service projects
- Outreach campaigns
- Fundraisers for charity
- Habitat for Humanity
- Foodshare |
| 🗣️ | Conferences & Speakers | Events featuring presentations, lectures, panel discussions, or workshops by experts.

- Academic conferences
- Guest speaker series
- Industry forums |
| 🌍 | Cultural Centers & Programs | These events may be organized by cultural centers or they can be programs to promote diversity, inclusion, and cross-cultural understanding.

- Heritage months
- Cultural celebrations |
| 🍏 | Health & Wellness | Events are focused on promoting physcial, mental, and emotional well-being among students.
*Examples include:*
- Wellness workshops
- Stress management sessions
- Fitness challenges |
| 📅 | Important Dates & Deadlines | Please limit these events to academic or administrative deadlines or key dates to keep students informed.
*Examples include:*
- Application or registration deadlines
- Orientation sessions
- Academic advising periods |
| 🍕 | Student Activities | Events focused on fostering social connections, leadership development, and campus involvement for students.
*Examples include:*
- One Ton Sundae
- Social mixers
- Campus-wide events |
| 🛠️ | Training & Workshops | Events offering skill-building opportunities, training sessions, or workshops to develop specific competencies or enhance personal and professional growth.
*Examples include:*
- Communication workshops
- Compliance training
- Diversity and inclusion training
- Research methods workshops |
