### 🧩 What is Jira Assets? 

**Jira Assets** is our centralized system for tracking, managing, and visualizing various types of assets, including hardware, software, business services, databases, departments, and more. Keeping Jira Assets up to date offers several benefits:

- **Faster troubleshooting and support**
- **Accurate reporting and compliance**
- **Better decision-making**

### ✅ What You Need to Do

Each department is responsible for reviewing and updating specific assets, which may include:

- **Server Name**
- **Server Description**
- **Server Admin**
- **Business Owner**
- **VMware VM Link**
- Business services
- Tags
- ….

### 🛠️ How to Use It 

1. **Go to Jira Assets**  
[Object Schema - Enterprise Systems - Assets](https://uconn.atlassian.net/jira/assets/object-schema/17?typeId=648&objectId=343963)

     (You need to log in to Jira Service Management before accessing Jira Assets.)

2. **Filter Your Assets**  
Use the **Filter **to narrow down servers assigned to your department. Below, we applied two filters: AD (department acronym) and Flagged for correction, which indicates missing or incorrect asset information (e.g., Server Admin/Business Owner or VM link). Once the issue is fixed, the flag will be automatically cleared the following Monday by the workflow.

3. **Edit Fields That Need Updates**

     Click on the object to open the Detail View. You can update the information, and it will save automatically.

### 🔎 Tips for Accurate Data

- **Check existing Business services or Tags** before adding new ones
- Please **do not change** the following fields, as they will be updated by the automation workflow:
  - **Flagged for Correction**
  - **Asset Marked Confirmed**
  - **OS Upgrade Needed**
