If you’re new to LastPass, you will need to activate your account through the UConn Opt-in process. Your UConn LastPass account cannot be created using lastpass.com.

## How to activate your UConn LastPass account as a new user:

> 📝 You will need to install the [LastPass browser extension](https://lastpass.com/misc_download2.php) or the LastPass App to use your account.

1. Go to [UConn Access Request via SailPoint](https://uconn.identitynow.com/ui/d/request-center/request-access) and log in with your Net ID and Password  
(Legacy: [NetID - LastPass Opt In](https://netid.uconn.edu/management/lastpass_optin.php))
2. Choose "Request for Myself"
3. Choose "Access Profiles" on the left hand side
4. Type "lastpass" in the search box.
5. Click "Select" on the right hand side.
6. Click "Review Request" on the right hand side.
7. Click "Submit Request" on the right hand side.
8. Check your UConn email inbox for a Welcome email from LastPass and click **Activate LastPass** to activate your account. Be sure to check your spam folder if you do not receive the invitation email.
9. Enter your UConn email address and the activation code provided in your Welcome email and click **Continue.**
10. Once redirected to the next page, click <u>visit download center</u> and install the LastPass browser extension on the browser of your choice.
11. Once the browser extension is installed, click the LastPass icon in your web browser tool bar.
12. Enter your UConn email address and click **Log In. ***No password is required for this step.*
13. You will be directed to a Microsoft 365 login page. Sign in using your UConn email and password. If you are already logged into Microsoft 365 in your browser, the login screen will be skipped, and you’ll be forwarded directly to LastPass.
14. Your LastPass vault will open automatically, and your UConn LastPass account is activated!

You will receive an email from LastPass confirming your account activation, along with a link to free training where you can learn more about how to use your new LastPass account.
