Users who do not have a UConn NetID and password can use the Respond to a File Request function to share files securely on Filelocker. 

1. [Log in](http://filelocker.uconn.edu/) to Filelocker with your NetID and password. You will then be directed to the **My Files **page.
2. Click on the **Upload Requests **bar below the **Files Shared with You **section.
3. Click on the **View Link **link under the **Link **heading. The **View Public URL for Upload Request **window will appear.
4. Click on the upload link. The link will open in a separate tab.
5. Enter the password for the upload request in the **Password **field.
6. Click on the **Verify Password **button.
7. On the upload screen, enter the expiration date for the file and any notes you wish to add to the file.
8. Click on the **Upload a File **button.
  1. The **Open **window will appear. Click on the name of the file you wish to upload.
  2. Click on the **Open **button at the bottom of the **Open **window. Filelocker will then scan and encrypt your file upload.
    - Once Filelocker has completed scanning and encryption, your screen will look like the image below, with the file you uploaded listed under the **Name **heading. The process will then be complete.

> ⚠️ The individual who requested the file upload from you will see the file listed on their **My Files** page under the **Uploaded Files** heading.
