If you are having issues opening Outlook or if it is not responding, your profile may be corrupted. This article covers how to recreate your Outlook profile.

1. Open **Outlook** and select the **File** tab.
2. Select **Account Settings** and then **Account Settings** again to open the settings window.
3. In the "Account Settings" window that opens, select the **Data Files** tab.
4. You need to save a copy of your profile before it can be removed. With your profile selected, click **Add**.
5. Save the outlook file when prompted. You can leave the default name and file location.
6. After the copy of the profile is saved, go to the **Email** tab.
7. Select your profile and then click **Remove**.
8. Click **New** and go through the setup prompts to recreate your profile for your @uconn.edu email.

## Recreating the Profile Through Control Panel (Use if Outlook is Unresponsive)

1. In the Windows Search box, search for **Control Panel,** and open the Control Panel App.
2. In the Control Panel App, search for **mail**, and click to open Mail (Microsoft Outlook) or Mail (32-bit).
3. Select **Show Profiles**
4. Select **Add**, type a name for the new profile, and select **OK**. The name is not shown anywhere except for this profile window, so the name is not important.
5. The Add Account window will appear and auto-fill your name and email address. Select** Next**.
6. When prompted for credentials, type your *email address* as the username (remove any pre-filled entries) and enter your password. Select **Remember my credentials**, and then click **OK**.
7. At the Congratulations window, uncheck **Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too**. Select **Finish**.
8. Make sure **Always use this profile** is checked, and the new profile you created is selected
9. Select **OK**, close the Control Panel, and open Outlook.
