Faculty and staff can locate missing folders on their Q: drives.

Users who experience this issue have been given access to the EFS shared Q: drive but can only see the top-level folder or a subset of lower-level folders when Q: is mapped and are unable to see all of the folders to which they have been given access. This may be due to Windows Sync Center being enabled, which caches files offline.

## Managing Offline Files

You should perform the following procedure before checking **Sync Center** settings.

1. Restart your computer.

2. Log into **Anyware Desktop** from the [UConn Anyware](https://software.uconn.edu/uconn-software-online/) page.
  1. Verify that you can see and navigate to all the folders to which you have been given access.
    1. If you cannot see and access these folders, contact your IT support to verify your permissions.
3. Open **Control Panel** by searching for "Control Panel" in the **Windows** **Search** tool and selecting the **Control Panel** app.
4. Change the **View By** setting to **Large** or **Small** icons.
5. Click the **Sync Center** option at the bottom of the page.
6. Select **Manage offline files** from the menu on the left.
7. Select **Disable offline files. **
8. Select **OK. **
9. Close all windows.
10. Restart your computer.
11. Check again for whether you have access to your Q: drive folders.
  1. If these folders are not immediately accessible, wait for a minute or so to allow your computer to start up all services and reconnect to the network and shared drive.
  2. Check again for whether you have access to your Q: drive folders.
