Attendees can mute and unmute themselves in Google Hangouts.

1. In Google Hangouts, move your mouse cursor anywhere over the screen, and a bar at the bottom should pop up.
2. If the microphone icon button is red, your microphone is already muted; if it is not, you are unmuted.
3. Select the button to mute/unmute yourself. You also have the option of clicking CTRL-D to mute and unmute.

> ⚠️ The Hangouts owner can mute you at anytime during the meeting, but you can unmute yourself with the same button shown above.
