Windows workstations for faculty and staff that are managed by ITS have Direct Access (DA) enabled on them. DA allows you to access network resources, such as the P: and Q: drives, while off the UConn network.

1. Click the** network utility icon** in your taskbar.
2. If you see **ITS Direct Access System**, it is enabled on your workstation. You do not need to take any actions to have a secure connection to on-campus resources.

> ⚠️ If you are not able to connect to UConn resources this way, you can connect to the University network through the [virtual private network (VPN).](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/10726900354)
