ITS has applied a theme on our Confluence-powered Knowledge Base (KB) using a product call Scroll Viewport. It acts as a skin that makes the space appear like a standalone website.

All changes and additions to the KB must be made in Confluence, and only people with permission to edit the KB can access this content. This article covers how to log in and switch between Confluence and the Viewport.

## Logging In

If you are not logged into Confluence, you will see the KB content via the Viewport. If you are logged in, you may bypass the Viewport and go directly to Confluence.

If you wish to make changes to the KB and you are not in Confluence, click the **Login** button in the upper navigation.

1. Enter your NetID credentials. You will be directed to the homepage for the KB on Confluence.
2. Go to the page where you wish to make changes or add an article.

## Viewing Content in the Viewport

Once you have made changes in Confluence, check the article’s appearance in the Viewport to ensure that the macros and formatting in your article display correctly for end users.

1. In Confluence, click the eye icon underneath the article title.> Macro (inline-media-image)
2. A dialogue box will pop up saying, “This space is available in a Scroll Viewport.” Click **Open**.
3. The article will appear in the Viewport.

## Switching Between the Viewport and Confluence

Once you are logged into Confluence, you can switch easily between the two.

- If you are in the Viewport, click **Viewport Control** on the left. It will give you the option to view or edit the page in Confluence.> Macro (inline-media-image)
- If you are in Confluence, click the **eye icon** under the title.
