This article provides an overview of the changes when faculty and staff can use Microsoft Teams.

Skype for Business has been replaced by Microsoft Teams. Teams includes the capabilities in Skype for Business and adds new functionality that facilitates collaboration and app integration. ITS plans to transition the University to a Teams-only environment soon.  Skype meetings will be converted to Teams meetings and after the transition, messages sent via Skype will be received in Teams.  Past Skype conversations will be retained in the Conversation History folder in Outlook. Users have access to Teams and will have the ability to use both services side by side until the transition to Microsoft Teams only.

## Experience after Transitioning to Teams

- The following message is displayed when you sign in to Skype for Business.

- Users can no longer start a chat, call, or meeting using Skype for Business.
- All new calls and Instant messages will be received in Microsoft Teams.
- Skype for Business meetings that you scheduled will be automatically converted to Teams meetings.
- You can continue to join Skype for Business meetings that were scheduled by external users.
- The Skype for Business client will be removed from your computer.
- Conversation History can be viewed from your Conversation History folder in Outlook or OWA.

## Accessing Saved Content in Skype for Business

Your Skype for Business information will be available as follows:

- Past conversations, calls, and voicemails from Skype for Business can be viewed from the Conversation History folder in Outlook or OWA.
- Your Contacts from Skype for Business will be automatically available in Teams under the Calls tab.
- Your Skype for Business meetings will be migrated to Team meetings and can be accessed from your Outlook calendar or from the Meetings tab in Teams.
