If you are unable to log in to UConn systems or lose access to UConn-Secure Wi-Fi, one of the first troubleshooting steps is to make sure your NetID password is synchronized with our systems. You check this by performing a password test.

> ℹ️ NetID passwords can become unsynchronized for various reasons. For example, age can be a factor. Old or outdated passwords can result in users losing access to various University applications (UCONN-SECURE is the most common system to see this issue.)

## Running a NetID Password Test

1. Navigate to the [NetID website](https://netid.uconn.edu/).
2. Sign in with your NetID and NetID password.
3. Click on **My NetID **in the blue ribbon.
4. Select **Password Test** from the drop-down menu.
5. Enter your login information.

All three tests should pass and show a "Synchronized" message in the box next to it.

> ⚠️ If one of the test results is red (i.e., Out of Synch), see [Changing Your NetID Password](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IKB/pages/10728767647).
