If you prefer not to use a mobile phone for the 2FA service, faculty, staff and students can choose to designate a tablet as a second factor. Only faculty and staff can designate a landline as their second factor, if they choose.

## Adding a Tablet

1. Begin by downloading the **Duo Mobile** app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
2. Go to <u>[uconn.login.duosecurity.com/devices](https://uconn.login.duosecurity.com/devices)</u> and log in with your NetID and NetID password.
3. Select **Add a device**  
Note: If this is your first time enrolling in Duo, you will be greeted with a “Welcome to Duo Security” screen. Click **Next** until you reach the “Add a device” screen.
4. On the “Add a device” screen, select **Duo Mobile.**
5. When prompted to enter your phone number, select **I have a tablet**.
6. The next screen will prompt you to download the Duo Mobile app if you haven’t already. Click **Next **to continue.
7. The next screen will appear differently if you are on a tablet vs. a computer.  
a. If accessing from a computer, you will be presented with a QR code to scan. Open the Duo app on your tablet, tap **+Add**, and select **Use QR code. **Hold the tablet up to the computer screen to scan the QR code.  
b. If accessing from a tablet, simply click the **Continue** button.
8. The process is complete.
