Mac users can install Avira antivirus software on their personal devices.

> ⚠️ Before downloading Avira antivirus, ensure that your device meets Avira’s [system requirements](https://answers.avira.com/en/question/avira-minimum-system-requirements-31036?sh=true).

1. Navigate to [Avira's antivirus page](https://www.avira.com/en/free-antivirus-mac).
2. Click **Free download**.
3. Under **Downloads **in your browser, select the **.dmg** file that was downloaded.
4. Accept the software licensing agreement.
5. Select **Continue**.
6. Enter the Mac’s administrator password to continue the installation. Avira will open automatically and run a system check. A green checkmark over the status overview indicates that Avira has installed properly and your Mac is protected.
