Students, faculty and staff can update Ubuntu Linux. 

## Installing Updates in Ubuntu Linux

1. Use the desktop search function to find the Update Manager.
2. Open the **Update Manager**.
3. Click **Check **to find all new updates.
4. Click on the **Install** **Updates** option. Ubuntu will prompt you for the user password when installing updates.

## Enabling Automatic Updates in Ubuntu Linux

1. Open **Update Manager**.
2. Click the **Settings **button in the bottom left.
3. In the **Updates **tab, set the **Check for Updates **field to **Daily **and **Install Security Updates Without Confirmation**.
4. Select **Close**.
