Internet browsers (programs like Firefox, Safari, Edge and Chrome) save parts of a website upon the first visit. This allows the website to load quickly when visited again. Sometime clearing the cache is necessary when parts of a website have changed. Many browser-related issues can be solved by clearing browser caches. 

> ✅ Before deleting your cache, ensure that **only** “Cookies” and “Cache” are checked for deletion.

## Clearing the Cache in Google Chrome

1. Launch **Chrome**.
2. On the browser **toolbar**, select the **menu** button (3 vertical dots in the top right corner).
3. Select **Delete Browsing Data.**
4. Ensure that **Cookies and Cache** are selected and the range is set to ***All Time***.
5. Select **Clear Data.**
6. After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen the browser, you can press **Control (Command on macOS) + Shift + T **to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.

## Clearing the Cache in Mozilla Firefox 

1. Launch **Firefox**.
2. At the top right hand corner of the browser, click the **menu** button.
3. Select **History.**
4. Select **Clear Recent History.**
5. Ensure the time range is set to **Everything.**
6. Check the boxes for **Cookies **and **Cache**.
7. Select **OK.**
8. After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen them, you can press **Control (Command on macOS) + Shift + T **to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.

## Clearing the Cache in Safari

1. Launch **Safari**.
2. In the browser's toolbar, select **Safari.**
3. Select **Preferences** and then **Privacy.**
4. Select **Manage Website Data.**
5. Select **Remove All.**

## Clearing the Cache in Microsoft Edge

1. Launch **Edge**.
2. Click on the **three horizontal dots** at the top right hand corner of the browser.
3. Click on **History**. Then in the popup window, click on the **trash icon**.
4. Change the time range to *All Time*.
5. Ensure **Cookies** and **Cache** are selected.
6. Click **Clear Now.**
7. After clearing your cache, close all open tabs/windows of the browser. When you reopen them, you can press **Control + Shift + T **to reopen all recently closed tabs. You may have to press the keys multiple times.
