## \uD83D\uDCD8 Instructions

1. Begin by checking your action items for any Contract Request Approvals. You can do this in three ways:
  1. Using the “Action Items” menu in the upper right corner of your HuskyBuy screen and selecting “Contract Request Approvals”. OR…

  2. Using the lefthand navigational menu to go to Contracts > Contracts > Contracts Home. On this page, you’ll find a widget called “Approval Actions”. This widget should indicate any Contract Request Approvals you may have. OR…

  3. Using the lefthand navigational menu to go to Contracts > Approvals > Contract Requests To Approve

2. Assign the contract request to yourself using the “Form Request Actions” drop-down to ensure nobody else is simultaneously working on the same contract request.

  1. Once the request has been assigned to you, you may also choose to forward the request to another contract specialist, which will automatically assign it to them by using the “Forward to…” option in the “Form Request Actions” drop-down. NOTE: Do *NOT reject the contract request. This will force the requestor to create a new request. Please see below if you need to obtain additional information from the requestor.*

3. Review the “Details” section. Click “Next”.
4. Review the accompanying documents in the “Attachments” section, if any. Click “Next”.
5. Read through each of the answers in the “Questions” section, checking for any errors or discrepancies or any other concerns or questions you may have for the requestor.
6. If the Contract Request requires further attention from the requestor, use the “Form Request Actions” drop-down and select “Return to Requestor”. ***NOTE:**** if the request was forwarded to you, you will not have the option to **“Return to Requestor”**. You will need to either select “Forward to” or “Return to Shared Folder”.*

From this menu, you may also put the Contract Request on hold, return the request to the pending shared folder, forward the request to a co-worker, or approve it. Once again, DO NOT reject the contract request.

1. You may also use the “Discussion” section in the contract request to correspond with the requestor regarding any questions or concerns you may have.
2. If the contract request is complete, use the “Form Request Actions” drop-down to approve the contract request. A blue banner will appear above the Contract Request indicating it has been approved.
From here, you will be able to proceed to creating a contract record. For more information on this next step, review this article:[https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FPB/pages/27771109684/Creating+a+Contract+Record?atlOrigin=eyJpIjoiM2VhYzllODAzZDI1NGRmOGIwODIxZjU1OGYzNTViNGUiLCJwIjoiYyJ9](https://uconn.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FPB/pages/27771109684/Creating+a+Contract+Record?atlOrigin=eyJpIjoiM2VhYzllODAzZDI1NGRmOGIwODIxZjU1OGYzNTViNGUiLCJwIjoiYyJ9)
3. If you are not ready to create the contract record while you are still on the approved contract request, you can access approved contract requests by navigating to the “Requests Ready for Contract Creation” page.
