To choose a main document, the Contract Specialist will need to perform the following steps:


1. In the Contract Record, navigate to the attachment section.  Click upload main document, which will present a drop down.  From here, you can choose “Upload Main Document” or “Use a Template”

2. **Upload Main Document**: Choosing “Upload Main Document” will allow you to upload a contract document of your choosing.  Typically, this will be used for drafting with third party paper, a common scenario for Hotel and Event Services Agreements and Software License Agreements.

You can choose to add your own file by choosing “Add My Own” and then “Select File” or dragging the file onto the gray box to upload it.  

Clicking “Save Changes” will add the attachment, and it will become viewable in the attachment section.

> ℹ️ Note: Only word documents can be edited using the plug-in.  Any PDFs will be read-only.

3. **Use a Template: **Choosing “Use a Template” will launch a screen that will allow you to select the appropriate main document template.  Click the blue “select” button next to the available template to proceed:

This will begin compiling the template as seen below:

The compiled file will appear below:

The primary benefit of the “Use a Template” option is that it will begin you with template agreement which pre-fills many data fields that have already been populated in the system contract record.
